Barb Redepenning – Curator
Barb has always had an interest in local history. In 1971 she married Alan, they had three sons, David who lives by Blue Earth, Adam who was killed in a car accident in 2000, and Josh who lives in Montevideo. Barb and Alan have three grandchildren Blake, Allison and Madie. Barb started working at the museum in 2008, her duties include work on displays, special exhibits, collections, research, programs, special events and grants.

Jakob Peterson – Assistant Curator
Jakob graduated from South Dakota State University in 2023 with a degree in history and minors in English and Political Science. He started working at the museum in October 2023. He enjoys doing research for museum visitors and writing stories for the newspapers as well as the newsletters. He also assists with cataloging newly donated items, greeting visitors, writing grants and various other projects.

Jacob Bormann – Museum Assistant
Jacob Bormann graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2024 with a BA in Anthropology and a Minor in Geosciences. Previously involved with history tours and public events at the Comstock House in Moorhead Minnesota, he moved to Madison, MN in the spring of 2025 before joining the Lac Qui Parle Museum staff in August of 2025. At the Museum, Jacob regularly indexes newspapers and assists in the cataloging and inventory process of items and artifacts in the collection.
